Button batteries RULE! Review by James

Overall

The only reason I can think of getting a 'non button' battery would be for totally hands free vaping.

Otherwise, I would definitely go with the button version. I get a much more controlled vape. less overheating, and also better flavor with these. (Posted on 5/18/13)

I think the Manuel gives the flavors more heat and power, I don't know why but I know that's got to be true because I get a hotter vape, more vape quicker and I guess because you're controlling when it's heating. DO NOT! Leave it in your v pack attached to say a tankomizer, because it hits the size with the button and you don't want to burn it, so make sure it's not attached to anything when you're not using it. MAGMA is the best "mini" e-cig out there! Review by Scott

I love my Blu e-cigs too (especially socially-love their blue color led) but when it comes to a regular, all day "mini" e-cig, the MAGMA is it! It's very sophisticated looking, it's a tad thicker than Blu's which means it holds more charge between charges and it's the perfect size...for me Blu is just a tad to small. Oh and manual really is the only way to go with mini e-cigs, forget about the automatic crap!

I posted this here because I didn't want to post it twice for the MAGMA kits (when I bought mine there was only one kit, now there is two. (Posted on 4/21/12)

I had mine for 3 weeks and the end cap came off exposing the LED. I still use it though and love the control. Overall it is way better then the automatic. Wish I could get a replacement end cap And glue it on. Going to try the mega batts or the inferno on my next order.. (Posted on 4/19/12)

I find myself constantly charging this,at full charge it makes flavors pop right out of the atty. The flavor will decline as you use it, so charge and charge again. Great product, good service. Will recommenced this. But i think im going to be switching to the inferno as i am a heavy all day vaper. (Posted on 8/28/11)

One went bad, one works fine Review by Pete

I had one of the manual batts go bad on me. I suspect the switch or battery, as it worked once for me when walking through the RMA questions after failing consistently under normal use. Initially, both batts had no problem, but the bad one stopped holding a charge, and worked intermittently. I'll update with the results of the RMA. (Posted on 6/21/11)

I received the purple one... it didn't even work... the purple led illuminated once.. and then nothing... Got ripped on this one...

great battery, one slight imperfection Review by Howard

The battery itself is wonderful, it lasts a lifetime compared to my old volcano batt, and the button makes sure it doesn't go off during band practice or other loud environments. It also fits in the M Pack and charges great. I only have two concerns. One is the fact that the button sticks out a BIT too much when screwing into the M pack and I dented the rubber slightly. The other is the fact that the battery itself is TOO LONG and when I leave it anywhere in the pack, the pack won't close properly. So I keep it in my pocket slightly open, which is kind of a drag.
However, as far as functionality, totally worthwhile.

Aside from the mega manual this is my favorite magma batt. Unfortunately I have only had one out of three that would thread into the Mpack for charging. I reccomend the M usb charger to go with this item. (Posted on 1/4/11)

I really enjoy the NEW manual battery the button is 100% better than the old rubber one that always got stuck. The only problem that I face is that carrying in your pocket the button will get pressed without you knowing and will burn out your atty quicker than normal, but that's pretty much the only problem I have and thats not volcanos fault, keep up the good work guys!

P.S. I haven't smoked a tobacco cigarette since I opend my magma deluxe starter kit in august and now only smoke the magma at night after work! (Posted on 12/29/10)

Listen manual is the way to go, but for an extra 2 bucks you can get the mega manual battery. Mega lasts all day, these last a few hours. So to sum up, if you have to have a green led, get this. If you want a battery that lasts get the mega. (Posted on 12/18/10)

I ordered them right after they got them back in stock red led only few days ago to this date. I received two different models: CY8033 & JI6952.
Both batteries differs from ones I ordered with the starter packs way back. Theyre 2/8" longer and the buttons are smaller. They are hard to click JI6952 doesnt even "click" its hard to say if you pressed the button or not, you have to guess or stare at the tip led... and the rubber button even slipped beneath the open numerous times as it doesnt stick out as in previous manual batteries. I have to press it with care not to get the rubber button stuck again because it keeps the atty on until it starts flashing from overvaping. It is 2/8" longer but it still fits the PCC well.
Other than these issues it runs great and imho is better than automatic battery.

I have no problems getting all of mine in or out of the Charge Case, the button is durable as all get out and to top it off... i can get Vapor rips off this thing like Mad! Great Battery, But... Review by Tobias

Friend of mine gave me an old non-Volcano 510 battery of his now that he was back to analogs. Had been looking at Volcano for a few weeks, trying to decide, and it worked... well, ok. Until I needed to charge it that first day. Well, friend had lost his charger, so ordered one from Volcano. It wouldn't charge the old 510 for some reason, so I figured "whatever, I'll just jump in head first".

So these are my first batteries on my first real ecig attempt. And I am HOOKED. Good to great battery life for a 510 (a little over an hour of CONSTANT vaping, two of them will last me a day of vaping between classes).

My only complaint is the button on one of mine disappeared completely into the case. Have contacted customer service about the issue. So assuming a proper replacement, I have no complaints, and will likely be coming to Volcano for all of my e-cig hardware needs into the foreseeable future. (Posted on 9/8/10)

I have other manual batteries that I use all the time so I was looking forward to having a couple to use with my Magama. The problem with these manuals is that the button profile is too flush with the battery, making the button difficult to press and it can become stuck inside the housing. Additionally, although I know that the attempt was to lower the profile to enable you to charge it with the M-Pack, the button can still snag when you are trying to put in in the charging receptacle.

Add a small slit to the foam where you can insert a manual battery easily (like a keyhole) and raise the profile of the button and these will be great. (Posted on 8/25/10)

ordered another one of these manuals and must say, for a moment, it seemed they had given me the wrong battery. (compared it to my first magma manual batt) turns out, they done changed the button, downsized it, if you will. the contact on the batt no longer has a hole in it. yay! (which, to my experience, "drowned" and "shorted" some of my batt's from the juices) like, fellow vaper "50/50", i got a knick on the button on the first manual batt from the mpack. new color? gotsta git tha purple in my circle... nyeeh. where to start.... first off these things are indestuctable! mine got ran over by a car and is still working as good as new. on the other hand all i did was drop it and it slid on the grond for a minute which took off most of the paint. it looks beat up but still does the job. next of course the button is great to have. serves good purpose and is easy to use. on the other hand tho it is real flimsy and easy to break. the first week i had it the button got pushed inside the battery and was completely useless. my other battery works fine so i guess it all depends on how hard u push it. good thing it was covered under warranty although they said they sent it out over 2 weeks ago so i had to have them send it again. if volcano fixs the flimsy button and easy to scratch paint i would believe in my opinion it has been perfected. good luck (Posted on 8/11/10)

I really do like the manual battery for the control. Automatics will sometimes turn off/on on a light pull, and it's annoying. My only complaint with the manual is the fact that I can't use it in the M-pack. Sure, it goes in just fine...but it snags easily when trying to remove. I already put a nick in the button. I just got my set of manual Magma batteries. These are amazing! In my opinion they really blow the auto batteries out of the water! My only wish would be that they offered you a choice when initially buying the magma kit between the auto or manual batteries. I know some where wondering if the manual battery would work in the m case and it does. I like this manual battery because it has a very short button and can hit in the M case. I have a few other 510 manual batteries that will not fit. Excellent & preferred Review by My First Manual Battery

Note I am writing this review after one single day of using the manual batteries. I received (2) manual batteries and (2) automatics and have only tested the automatics as the manuals are by far my preference. When I vape I typically do so heavily and prefer this battery as it wont accidentally heat up from being knocked around inside your pocket or carrying case. I feared the button would seem burdensome but now prefer it and will soon order a couple more. My only concern is that the button feels a bit flimsy and may wear over time, then again it may be fine as I am new to using these.

I just got four of these in the mail on Monday all I have to say is awesome. The I can vape for a very long time on one of these. Blows the regular volcano out of the water on terms of life between charges. Does take longer to charge but that is absolutely fine with the increased life between charges and to be expected. I've converted to the magma I really haven't touched my regular volcanos since I got these. I love the control of the switch, whcih is why I love my passthrough. Even though I found to not like auto batteries mainly becuase of extreme sensitivty I am thinking of getting a few autos in the future. (Posted on 5/6/10)
