LOVE IT!!! IT IS WICKED COOL,COLD,SMOOTH!!!!LOL!!! (Posted on 6/17/10)
Buy the magma, I wanted to smoke constantly while using the volcano, once I got a magma I completely quit smoking normal cigs. (Posted on 6/11/10)
I'd like to start off by saying the black are the classiest looking e-cigs that i've seen yet. No Marboro knockoffs or that fake cigarette look. I'll bet the whites look good too, an all white e-cig, but i have yet to see them. I especially like the stripes on the battery. You can't see them in the pictures, but they look great. The gold ring where the cart and battery meet is a nice touch too. The volcano in all is a very aesthetically pleasing e-cig.
The charging pack is brilliant, it lets me get through an entire pack of cartridges while i'm on the road or working. I haven't looked extensively, but I think this is the only company that makes such a thing.
I love that I can smoke anywhere with these, Im sitting next to my friend, who hates smoking, in his apartment, just smoking like crazy and he still hasn't noticed.
I couldn't figure out how i was supposed to use it before i got it, even with the video, but after getting my volcano, everything was intuitive and just as they said.
Now for my criticisms. While they explained what to do, they don't really say what not to do. I really don't want to ruin the battery or atomizer, so I need a little more instruction on how to treat them.
Sometimes, the carts leak into my mouth, and I'm not sure how healthy that is. I mean, you wouldn't eat a cigarette would you? They taste good, and I figure there are no warnings about it, so it can't be that bad, but it still concerns me.
The flavors are ok. Kona Coffee is the one that I've smoked the most, and while I don't actually know what its supposed to taste like, it doesn't taste like any coffee I've had, and I've had more than my fair share of coffee. It has a hint of the familiar coffee flavor, but not that much. The cherry tastes like fake cherry, and the tobacco doesn't actually taste like tobacco, imo. I haven't smoked either of the latter extensively, as this is only the second day I've had this. I'm going to try out some other flavors from other manufacturers, and mix it up. I'm especially looking for a clove flavor, as I'm bummed that they can't sell clove cigarettes in the states anymore. If you look for alternate flavorings though, watch out for what they put in them, because the fda found diethylene glycol in some e-liquid, which is whats found in antifreeze. Not much better than cigarettes
I think I should have sprung for the deluxe, or the Magma, as the Magma has thicker vapor, and both have a car charger which I could really use. I'll get one when I get a spare battery and atomizer, as well as some blank cartridges.
As far as not smoking goes, this is way better. Its more like hookah, which I am so passionate about that I considered building one for my car. I tried to smoke a cigarette today and it just made me sick. Get your nicotine fix without the carcinogens? Oh yea. (Posted on 6/6/10)
Quick Notes: For those thinking of getting into vaping, invest in a couple extra atomizers and 1 more battery minimum. If the battery dies, you’ve got a spare on the charger already, which is nice. And extra attys (atomizers) are nice to have if you play around with different flavors much. I don’t want to put menthol and coconut together; so having an extra atty or two won’t hurt.
Shipping: Volcano’s shipping is absurdly fast. This is almost a negative because now I feel like anything else I order is taking too long to get here. So thanks for that. They offer a nice cheap 2 day service via FedEx and when you put your order through, they get that sucker out the door fast.
The Battery: The batteries offer probably about 20-30 minutes of constant vaping. This isn’t bad at all if you’re investing in a spare battery. 1 on the charger and 1 works well. I prefer 1 on the charger, 1 behind the charging one and one in my mouth but that may be a bit excessive. So if you get 2 batteries, you really have no reason to be out of battery power especially when you carry around the:
V-Pack: This is one of the main reasons I didn’t jump right into other more expensive and advanced vaping tools. This V-Pack is a must if you’re looking at vaping. You can carry 5 flavors, your atty and current cart, and 2 batteries all at once. The V-Pack lets you charge your batteries up to 5 times (I think, never counted) on the go. This is far more than you’re likely to use the e-cig in a single day (or at the very least work day).
The Atomizer (Atty): The atomizers are much nicer than the Blu. Comparing them the Volcano is a bit longer and a bit wider which means it reaches into the carts well. It took significantly less time to break in the volcano atty than the Blu as well. That said, you may want o invest in a couple extra as I don’t like crossing flavors unintentionally. I personally keep 5 attys in my v-pack plugged into 5 different flavor carts.
Flavors: The flavors are really good, but at first while breaking in the atomizer you might taste a weird chemically taste. But this is normal and just takes a little bit to get to tasting good. I’m freakin’ nuts over the coffee and coconut flavors, and burned through those pretty damn fast. I ordered juice to fill my own now, and am looking at the blue foam mod for my carts. You’ll like the flavors, but you’ll probably use this as a springboard to even better flavors elsewhere. But the starter stock they give you will really help you kick
Wrap up: The Volcano is really a great place to start with vaping. I don’t know if I’ll even bother moving to other vaping equipment; the volcano makes taking all my flavors and spare batteries with me very easy. The only thing I’ll probably get elsewhere is the e-juice (other than the coconut which I just placed an order for). The excellent customer service, fantastic device, and incredibly helpful community all make the experience with volcano the best way to get into vaping! (Posted on 5/18/10)
Using this to ween off real cigarettes and I've been a little surprised by the results. The digital cigarette makes a great replacement so long as you remember a few details: Keep the battery charged, the atomizer clean and be ready to chew through those first 25 free cartridges while you figure out a method that works for you.
On the bad side, vapor is, depending upon juice and flavor choices, dryer than traditional cigarette smoke and isn't as filling in the chest (at least so far). The carts seem to produce a much more "dryer" vapor after about 12 hours and/or after any heavy usage (tapping the cartridge helps). With luck, the "dry" feel will go away after a second cleaning. The recharging is annoying but no worse than when a lighter dies.
On the good side, the battery lasts about 20 minutes, well beyond any real cigarette I've ever smoked or about two breaks worth. Carts, on a good run, will last two days, again, better than any real cigarette. The flavors taste great (pineapple punch all the way ;) and you can mix and match them to produce some great combos. You can get empty cartridges and there are a variety of 'juices' at eliquidplanet to refill on your on--the vaping equivalent of "rolling your own"--to reduce costs or to experiment.
Further pluses include the ability to breathe, smell nice and take a drag with the window's up.
All in all, I've got to say worth the price, once you find your pace (Posted on 4/22/10)
I've been smoking Marlboro's for 30 years. I had a pack and a half habit per day. After less than 1 week vaping, I've cut back to 10 regular cigs a day. Awesome! What an amazing product. The Volcano products are easy to use. The cost is 50% less than typical tobacco. The taste is unbelievable. This has to be the best way to quit smoking on the market today. Thanks! I am a pack a day smoker of American Spirits, and after receiving my Volcano in the mail, I read the instructions, charged the battery up, connected the atomizer and Vanilla Bean cart. Next I took my first puff and was instantly astounded! The flavor was not too intense and I was able to produce an adequate amount of vapor. From the standpoint of a hardened "analog cig" user I will have to say that the Volcano Standard is very intuitive with only a slight learning curve; but a learning curve is present none the less. As a first time user only having watched and read reviews on e cigs, I am very happy and impressed with this product. It really does supply the nicotine you would expect from a cig, the science of vaporizing isn't going to lie, and this e cig will show anyone first entering into the realm of vaporizors exactly that. There are a few elements that could appear as a downside such as the battery life before having to recharge. I found that after a good session of puffs my battery needed a recharge. This fact could initially seem unpleasant, but it's really only as unpleasant as not being able to smoke a few analog cigs in a row. So as long as you are not a chain smoker and give your battery a little charge after every time you finish a puff session, you will be pleased indeed. After trying this product I think i definately have to try the new Magma that Volcano just released. (Posted on 3/19/10)
I was quite skeptical but decided to order this kit in hopes of quitting smoking. It has worked wonders; I do not regret the decision at all. (Posted on 3/12/10)
I was skeptical about e-cigs, but decided to take the plunge with Volcano. I'm really glad I did! I've cut back on smoking 'analogs' in favor of Volcanos, especially during those times when smoking is not an option. I shared my e-cigs with my mom & brother during a recent family visit and they said they're going to order some as well!
Thanks for a great alternative, Volcano! (Posted on 2/27/10)
